Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter, mixed martial arts artist, and competes at the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of another fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her journey as a Muay Thai boxer. She made her debut in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals by unanimous choice. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won a gold medal in 2011 she was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur MuayThailand Champion. Antonia's professional debut was in 2003. In 2012, she took home in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002 with Anara bayanova at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan. She prevailed in the second-round TKO as well as winning her following two fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003, accumulating a record of 3-3-0. Shevchenko stopped for a few minutes from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won against Anissa through a unanimous decision followed by a win over Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the league and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's improved strike technique enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following the win. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight after winning the first fight with a unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from her defeat to defeat Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in the following three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was lastly defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
